The Director of the Data Protection Office (DPO) and Chairman of the Association of Data Protection Officers of Georgia, Professor Giorgi Mirianashvili, discussed the updates introduced by the new law regarding personal data protection.
Mirianashvili emphasized that the new law aligns entirely with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), establishing robust and efficient standards for safeguarding personal data.
Furthermore, Mirianashvili clarified which organizations are obligated to appoint or designate a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
